Love YOU first.

With love on the brain, and pink & red hearts everywhere, this week, I wonder:

When’s the last time you thought about YOURSELF as someone to love

and cherish

and romance

and adore?

Have you thought lately about how important and impactful, a little loving attention can be, for you?

There are so many ways, and everyone has a different love language. But chances are, you know what makes you feel SEEN and HEARD and HONORED more than anyone else on this plant.

So why not do something small (or big!) for yourself, today, this week. And always.

A bath. A walk around the neighborhood just to look at the gardens or homes or views that make you feel whole and cozy and inspired. Five minutes with your eyes closed listening (reeeeally listening) to a favorite song.

A fresh bouquet of flowers. Just because you love them.

When it comes to loving yourself:

Where are you holding back?

Where are you harboring resentments, guilt, judgment?

Where are you quick to insult, demean, criticize?

Have you said any kind words to yourself this week?

When’s the last time you held space for your own emotions to surface?

Have you listened with an open heart to your inner self lately?

When I learned how to look myself in the eye in the mirror, and really SEE myself, my life changed. I’m also a big fan of Mel Robbins’ High Five Habit, reminding us that a celebratory gesture, to ourselves, JUST BECAUSE, and on a regular basis, can alter the way we show up for others in a profound way.

At the end of the day, we’re responsible for our own happiness. So when we are meeting our needs without relying on someone/something else to meet them, then we are finally FREE to show up for others any way we want, no longer driven by a need to control or a wound to soothe.

Love is an openness, awareness.

A  hand held open, rather than a clenched fist around someone else’s wrist.

And we’re so much more capable of showing up for others with this openness when we’re already getting what we need from ourselves.

Tell me, what can you do to show yourself some TRUE love, right now. In this moment.

The world needs you to be your strongest self.

With SO much love,
